Work in progress - Abstract mandalas

Creating abstract pieces were one of the first artworks I did when I first started painting. I have a great obsession over drawing/painting spheres. In fact, that was how I naturally started as an astist. Given that I had no prior background in art, I had to start somewhere. So I began with drawing circles or spheres, and from there I added many different patterned embellishments. I also had other inspirations from other artists, which became my learning background. I would spend hours on Youtube or social media watching other creators creating their unique pieces. I was mindful about copying other artists' works, so I had to try and be as original as I can. But the inspiration was there. The idea was to allow the process work its way through when I'm in the middle of creating my abstract pieces, and the end result is always very satisfying and unique, and more importantly, original.

There is something beautiful and therapeutic about abstracts. Anyone who loves to do abstracts could probably relate to what I am about to describe. When I draw abstracts, or just simple spheres for that matter, I feel there are no boundaries to what I am creating. I will usually not know what comes next but I trust my intuition wholly. And more than often, I find that the end result of the piece always surprises me in a beautiful way. The one word that I can describe this feeling is most likely "Liberation".

Everytime I feel "shackled" or unable to break through my creative barrier, or even personal barriers in my life, I would go back to drawing abstract mandalas. It always helps me in more ways than one. There is something special, unique and magical about it. The freedom that I feel as my pen or brush glides on paper when I'm creating abstracts is beyond what I have already described. There is potent healing power to creating artworks that are intuitive. Some might even say cathartic. But nevertheless, it is a beautiful experience. I am blessed to have channeled artistic qualities in my life and even more blessed to share it with the world. I am sure there are others out there who will be inspired to try creative intuitive pieces that will help them in their personal lives, be it painting, or creating sculptures or potteries etc.

Whatever it is, art never fails to heal someone whose desire is to feel freedom or know that they are not alone.
